About The Position

Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for supporting shop employees, facilities or maintenance groups in the areas of recycling, running errands, general building maintenance, service and maintenance of machines, inventory, as well as chip and oil handling. This position does whatever is needed to assist in the process of getting parts out the door and facilitate a better flow of work in the shop.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a shop environment desired.
  • Able to perform general maintenance tasks.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Self-starter; work with little or no supervision.
  • Obtain NH DES Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certificate.
  • Attend DOT hazardous shipment training.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license from his/her state of residence, forklift certifiable, able to obtain DOT health card.
  • Basic understanding of MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel desired and Epicor maintenance software.
  • Must have ability to pass medical evaluation for respirator use and abide by requirements for wearing respiratory protection.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner and request assistance when warranted.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of small places; crawl around machinery.
  • Must have range of motion sufficient to permit climbing stairs and ladders, walking, standing, stooping and crouching for extended periods while performing duties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all aspects of cleanliness and oil/coolant in the machines
  • Perform general service and machine maintenance, which may include but is not limited to: cleaning machines of chips and discoloration, changing filters, way lube oil, flood coolant, sump pumps, filtering oil, servicing mist collectors, chip conveyors and performing routine inspections and cleaning machines.
  • Track quantities of new oil and re-order related products when necessary.
  • Organize barrels of waste oil and used filters; arrange with supervisor for recycling.
  • Oil spill management using spill control supplies.
  • Assist with both hazardous and non-hazardous waste (handling, storage and shipping).
  • General upkeep of work areas.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
