About The Position

This role focuses on completing assigned departmental tasks safely and efficiently while upholding quality standards. The Shop Technician I will report to the Team Lead (MX General) and is responsible for various operational duties within the shop environment.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude
Beginner proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office Suite is an asset)
Fluent in English (read/write/speak)
Safety consciousness
Attention to detail and quality orientated
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs
Extended periods of standing and walking
Occasional use of computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a manufacturing facility or warehouse is an asset

Responsibilities

Complete assigned departmental tasks in a safe and timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
Follow all Packers Plus policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with the Packers Plus Health and Safety Program.
Partner with Team Lead and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) for documentation of incidents or safety concerns.
Attend daily department meetings for communication of the day’s activities, safety updates, and awareness.
Monitor shop equipment and ensure completion of all preventative maintenance and inspections.
Perform day-to-day and any assigned tasks with the team.
Complete and be proficient in tasks and roles outlined in OJT (On Job Training) for the assigned role and department(s).
Communicate status of projects and tasks to the Team Lead.
Report Non-conformance (NCRs) concerns to the Technician II or Team Lead.
Assist other departments as required.
Perform daily shop cleaning.
Participate in overtime work as required.
