About The Position
The Shop Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment such as ignition, governor, lubrication and engine control systems. The role involves testing and troubleshooting various systems, removing and installing parts, disassembling and assembling components, and testing and adjusting assemblies with minimal supervision. Technicians will use a variety of tools and diagnostic software to perform repairs and will need to understand basic blueprints and wiring diagrams. The position also requires keeping the work area clean and orderly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability read, interpret, and apply communications in written, verbal, and diagram form.
- Ability to perform work in a safe, effective, and high-quality manner.
- Ability interact and communicate with customers and other employees in a professional, effective manner.
- Adaptive to changing instructions or work conditions.
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
Responsibilities
- Test and troubleshoot ignition, lubrication, governors and other devices used in the natural gas industry.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Use hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software to troubleshoot and repair systems.
- Understand basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and repair/operating instructions.
