About The Position

This position involves assembling increasingly complex equipment and products with limited supervision according to standard operating procedures. The role requires reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and bill of materials to accurately assemble equipment. Responsibilities include identifying product defects, operating machinery and test equipment, verifying product quality, and completing all work documentation. The technician will liaise with supervisors on quality or procedure issues, perform rework and repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. This role may involve exposure to product lines manufactured or serviced by Warrior and requires adherence to quality standards and safety procedures. The technician will also assist senior shop technicians, Lead Technicians, and the Shop Manager with additional maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow mechanical assembly drawings
  • Read electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair oilfield equipment to include top drives
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills
  • Utilize a computer and software for communication, reporting and data acquisition
  • Able to follow safety policies or procedures
  • Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces
  • Able to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, push, pull and crawl
  • Frequent use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools
  • Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
  • Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problems
  • Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects
  • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent education
  • 2 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent OR 1 + years’ relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment (Tech 1 Level)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent OR 2+ years’ relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair or field service environment of Industrial equipment (Tech 2 Level)
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills (MS Office). (Tech 2 Level)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of related experience with a high level of knowledge in either mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical disciplines. (Sr Tech Level)
  • Strong computer navigation and utilization skills (MS Office). (Sr Tech Level)
  • Good manual dexterity and/or inclination to assemble product. (Sr Tech Level)

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated mechanical/hydraulic/electrical assembly in the oilfield services/drilling industry.
  • Technical certification in automotive, lift truck, heavy equipment and/or diesel engine repair.
  • Currently seeking or has attained courses in leadership development as part of their career progression towards accepting more responsible duties in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble increasingly complex equipment/products with limited supervision according to standard operating procedures.
  • Read, interpret and follow standard engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials and other verbal/written work instructions/procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when required.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sequence sheets and visual aids.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machinery, tooling and test equipment; perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Verify quality of product produced in accordance with manufacturing work instructions.
  • Complete and document all work via a product traveler.
  • Liaise with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled standard equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide aid to senior shop technicians when required.
  • Assist Lead Technicians and Shop Manager with additional maintenance tasks as assigned.
