About The Position

HOLT CAT in Longview, Texas is looking for a Shop Supervisor for our Power Systems Division location. This position is responsible for scheduling and prioritizing all work performed in the assigned area of responsibility; providing quotes for jobs and work order review for customer billing; customer communications; shop safety practices and compliance with shop operating policies. This position has major responsibilities to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience - required
  • Minimum of 5 years of shop repair and troubleshooting experience of industrial engines- required
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Up to 30% travel required to include overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  • Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders
  • Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

Responsibilities

  • Models collaborative problem solving and personal influencing skills to ensure that service activities in incumbent's area of responsibility are aligned with the overall business plan of the service department and company
  • Provides Service Manager with status reports on all open work orders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Reviews monthly service operations branch statement to assess progress on department business goals
  • Participates in the selection, development, and evaluation of service department personnel to ensure a high level of commitment and competence is available in our human resources
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
