About The Position

The Shop Service Technician III - Utilities is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, while wearing proper personal protective equipment. This role involves maintaining a minimum set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications. The technician will attend and successfully complete required technician training classes. Key duties include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The position requires working in the assigned area in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. Responsibilities also include researching repair needs, ordering parts, and completing required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and track time. The role emphasizes approaching work positively, maintaining supportive conduct within the team, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality expectations. Additionally, the technician will assist in maintaining proper facility appearance and shop conditions by following contamination control guidelines, including housekeeping, and performing other general maintenance duties. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Completed all required training curriculum to be designated a Tech III.
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.
  • Job requirements frequently change requiring re-training once or more per year.
  • Problem solving ability, established examples / guidance are not always available
  • Some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.
  • Assignments allow some discretion in decision making and setting priorities within well-established parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations. Wears proper personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes.
  • Diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company owned equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs
  • Works in the assigned area in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
  • Research repair needs and order parts as needed. Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
  • Approaches work in a positive manner and maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team. Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
  • Assists with maintaining proper facility appearance and shop conditions by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housekeeping, and performing other general maintenance duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
