The Shop Service Technician II is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes and maintaining a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. They are expected to work in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. The role involves inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control and completing required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and track time. The technician must monitor job expenses against repair estimates and inform their supervisor of any potential cost overruns before job completion. A positive approach, supportive conduct, and setting standards for others are essential. The role also includes contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations, and potentially training or mentoring others. Other duties as assigned.
