The Shop Service Technician II is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes and maintaining a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry. The technician will maintain a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer’s specifications. Key duties include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The role also involves working in a neat and orderly fashion, looking for ways to improve work methods, the work area, and safety standards. The technician will inspect components to maximize parts reuse for cost control and complete required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and track time. Monitoring job expenses against repair estimates and informing the supervisor of any cost overruns before job completion is crucial. The position requires approaching work positively, maintaining supportive conduct within the team, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality expectations. Training and mentoring others in the department is also a responsibility. This role performs other duties as assigned.
