The Shop Service Technician II - Heavy Equipment is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. This role involves attending and completing required technician training classes, maintaining a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry, and possessing a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer’s specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. Work is to be performed in a neat and orderly fashion, with a constant focus on improving methods, work areas, and safety standards. The role includes inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control, completing required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and time, and monitoring job expenses against repair estimates, informing the supervisor of any cost overruns. The technician should approach work positively, maintain supportive conduct, contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while meeting safety and quality expectations, and train or mentor others. Other duties as assigned.
