The Shop Service Technician II - Heavy Equipment is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires the technician to wear proper personal protective equipment, attend and complete required training, and maintain a high awareness of industry technical changes. The technician will maintain a necessary set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and performing repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The role also involves working in a neat and orderly fashion, inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control, and completing required documentation using appropriate software. The technician will monitor job expenses against repair estimates, inform supervisors of potential cost overruns, and contribute positively to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. Additionally, this role may involve training and mentoring others and performing other assigned duties.
