This role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. The technician will attend and successfully complete required training classes, and maintain a necessary set of tools for job performance to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications. Key duties include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company owned equipment, covering mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The technician is expected to work in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, work area, and safety standards. This position requires inspecting components to ensure maximum parts reuse to control repair costs, and completing required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for repair times. Monitoring job expenses against estimates and informing the supervisor of any cost overruns before job completion is also crucial. The ideal candidate approaches work positively, maintains conduct supportive of the work Team, sets standards for others, and contributes to Team efforts by completing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality. Training and/or mentoring others in the department and temporarily assuming a Supervisor's position as necessary are also part of the role. The position demands a strong commitment to safety, a deep mastery of job-specific knowledge and skills, effective communication, and thorough information gathering. Taking initiative, being results-oriented, adaptable to changing business needs, and demonstrating credibility through responsibility and trustworthiness are essential competencies. Personal development, including acquiring and refining technical and professional skills, is also expected.
