The Shop Service Manager is responsible for branch site service, labor efficiency and timeliness of service delivery. Service excellence, team safety, along with the expansion of our service market share are key goals. This position is on-site at our Charlotte, NC facility located at 1118 W. Craighead St., Charlotte, NC 28206 and reports to the Regional Service Manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required, technical or trade school degree preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in general shop/service management or 7 years’ experience within the truck equipment/crane or lifting equipment industry (preferably on Palfinger products).
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows applications, and company CRM.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative and be resourceful.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire, engage and develop In-House Service Technicians.
  • A valid driver's license with Class B CDL is required.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, engage/retain and schedule In-House Service Technicians to effectively support customer service demands and operational needs.
  • Address customer inquiries, and equipment service needs; process service quotes and warranty claims.
  • Manage work-in-process to ensure safe and consistent service delivery, along with effective utilization of in-house service resources.
  • Manage facility infrastructure needs including maintenance scheduling and expense processing.
  • May perform service repairs on a frequent basis.
