About The Position

Nextran Truck Centers is hiring a Shop Porter in Kennesaw, GA. As a Shop Porter, you are a valued member of our team, performing essential duties such as moving vehicles, cleaning interiors and exteriors, performing maintenance tasks like checking fluid levels and charging batteries, placing stickers and signs on vehicles, assisting with lot cleanliness, and regularly starting vehicles to ensure they are in good condition. You will also be responsible for driving and handling all vehicles responsibly to prevent damage and protect dealership property. This role performs other related duties as assigned. We are a network of commercial truck dealerships committed to providing the best products and services through highly skilled associates who are focused on delivering the lowest life-cycle cost to our customers. Spanning the Southeast and Midwest United States, we provide sales, parts, and service for several leading brands, including Mack, Volvo, Isuzu, GMC, Ford, Hino, and Kalmar Ottawa.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or GED equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in trucking and/or automotive industry
  • Good driving record and Valid CDL required
  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs of our customers
  • Ability to read work orders submitted by various departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
  • Computer proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Moving vehicles as needed to different locations on the dealership lot
  • Cleaning the interiors and exteriors of vehicles
  • Perform maintenance tasks; check fluid levels, charge battery, wash and wax, etc.
  • Placing stickers and signs on vehicles
  • Providing assistance with keeping the lot clean and tidy at all times.
  • Starting vehicles regularly and making sure there are no issues with them
  • Driving and handling all vehicles responsibly to ensure damage prevention and protecting dealership property at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
