About The Position
Works in a fabrication shop and sets up and operates thermal cutting machines which cut metal plates and structural shapes to dimensions, contour, and bevel specified by blueprints, layout, work orders, and templates.
Requirements
- Ability to use hand cutting torch, tape measure, square and compass.
- Ability to follow diagrams and templates.
- Ability to add and subtract fractions.
Responsibilities
- Lifts, positions, and clamps metal stock onto bed of machine.
- Operates thermal cutting machines to cut metal plates and structural shapes.
- Cuts to dimensions, contour, and bevel specified by blueprints, layout, work orders, and templates.
