About The Position

Thomann Asphalt is a family-owned, full-service asphalt paving company that specializes in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, seal coating, crack sealing, and drain work, as well as site work with a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. We have an immediate opening for a skilled and motivated shop mechanic who will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of vehicles and equipment through performing consistent inspections and repairs.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving
• Ability to work well with others, take direction, and adapt to changes
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at once time
• Self-motivated, safety-minded, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Adherence to the attendance policy
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proven knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems

Nice To Haves

• Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance inspections on vehicles and equipment
• Monitor repair parts and spare parts inventory
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, and related components, and run diagnostic tests to identify functional issues.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them on time
• Assemble mechanical components and perform repairs when needed
