About The Position

Responsible for the overhaul and repair of crane components and accessories for Morrow Equipment Company. This role involves loading and unloading equipment and operating a forklift as requested. The position requires effective communication, collaboration, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally. A "can-do" attitude, respectful communication style, and a focus on customer service are essential. Successful problem-solving, effective speaking and writing skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to changing work environments are also key. Computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Word and Excel, PDFs, and internet browsers, is necessary. The mechanic will overhaul and repair crane and hoist components using various tools and equipment, understand technical drawings, operate shop machinery, and perform maintenance on shop equipment. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical hoist and crane systems is required, along with proper handling of equipment for transportation and storage. The role includes examining protective guards and safety devices, assembling parts lists, assisting with maintenance and repair of cranes and hoists, servicing gearboxes, race bearings, and hydraulic systems according to manufacturer specifications, and performing maintenance on all tools and shop equipment. Ensuring lifting equipment is in safe operating condition before use and strictly following all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including proper usage of PPE, is mandatory. The employee will represent the Company professionally, maintain Company vehicles, tools, and equipment, and comply with safety regulations and policies. Unsafe conditions must be reported promptly. Timely completion and submission of required paperwork and reports to the Corporate office are expected, along with safeguarding Company tools and equipment. The role may require lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and working extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, as per business needs. Other duties may be assigned by the District Service Manager or Shop/Yard Foremen.

  • Perform maintenance on all tools and shop equipment.
  • Ensure all lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use.
  • Following of all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE as required.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner.
  • Complying with safety regulations, standards and Company policies.
  • Responsible for timely completion and submission of required paper work and reports to the Corporate office.
  • Safeguard tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
  • May be required to maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • May be required to maintain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable by the company’s carrier.
  • May be required to complete rigger/signaling training and/or may be required to complete rigging/signal person certification.
  • May be required to have a forklift operator’s license.
  • May be required to maintain a Crane Operator Qualification.
