About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the company's fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and commercial trailers. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and complex mechanical and electrical system repairs to ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently in compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks and commercial trailers.
• Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs.
• Knowledge of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Experience with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to repair and/or replace engines, transmissions, brake systems (air brakes), steering mechanisms, and suspension systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to complete work orders and maintain detailed records.
• Adherence to safety standards and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and routine maintenance, including oil changes, checking fluid levels, and DOT inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using computer diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and/or replace malfunctioning components or parts, including engines, transmissions, brake systems (air brakes), steering mechanisms, and suspension systems.
• Conduct safety checks and perform all necessary repairs to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and meet state and federal DOT inspection standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and sometimes drivers to discuss repair plans and provide updates on vehicle status.
• Complete all work orders and related paperwork accurately, maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed on each vehicle.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company and industry safety standards and environmental policies.
