About The Position

H.O. Penn Machinery is hiring immediately for a Shop Mechanic – Construction Equipment in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role involves providing service of superior value by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy construction equipment. The mechanic will efficiently utilize resources, document repair procedures, and maximize the use of service and welding processes to provide fast, accurate service while minimizing expenses. A strong focus on safety and safe work habits is essential, including active participation in the continuous improvement of H.O. Penn’s safety culture, timely completion of safety training, adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies, and understanding job risks to mitigate them.

Requirements

1-3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy construction equipment; Caterpillar (CAT) equipment experience preferred
Computer proficiency required, including the ability to run diagnostic software and complete service documentation and communications
Must have strong communication skills and have a high level of self-management
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems, meet or exceed labor repair guidelines, and possesses the ability to plan and efficiently complete assigned tasks
Clean & valid driver’s license required
