About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead our team. We are a well-established oil change service provider with over 35 years of experience, known for our friendly technicians, efficient service, and the convenience of staying in your vehicle. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders promoted internally. This role is an opportunity to showcase leadership skills in a growing company. While experience is valued, it is not required, and we offer paid training for all new managers. Successful candidates can advance quickly, taking on team accountability within 60 days. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with experience in restaurants, retail, mechanics, and other trades.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position safely under cars
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods
- Ability to perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Basic computer operating skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a leader in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses
- Experience as a server, restaurant worker, mechanic, retail employee, landscaper, or other skilled trade worker
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory
- Understanding shop financials to drive results and manage budget
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Performing auto services such as draining motor oil and changing oil filters
- Providing excellent customer service
