About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead one of our locations. We are a growing company with over 35 years of experience, known for our efficient oil change process and friendly technicians. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders being internal promotions. This role is ideal for individuals who are people-oriented, driven, and possess leadership potential. While experience is valued, it is not strictly required, and we offer paid training for those looking to enter management or advance their careers in the automotive service industry. Successful candidates will quickly become responsible for their team's execution of Take 5 standards for oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, and other light maintenance.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position safely under cars
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods
- Ability to perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Basic computer operating skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses is valued but not required.
- Opportunities available to join the team as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training for those without prior management experience.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory
- Understanding shop financials to drive results and manage budget
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Performing auto services such as draining motor oil and changing oil filters
- Providing excellent customer service
