About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead our team. We are a well-established company with over 35 years of experience, known for our efficient oil change process that allows customers to remain in their vehicles. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, whether they have prior experience in the automotive industry or in other fields such as retail, restaurants, or customer service. We provide comprehensive paid training to ensure your success in managing a shop and performing essential automotive services.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position safely under cars
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods
- Ability to perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Basic computer operating skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other leadership roles is valued but not required.
- Opportunities to join the team as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training are available for those without prior experience.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory
- Understanding shop financials to drive results and manage budget
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Performing auto services such as draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and replacing wiper blades/air filters
- Providing excellent customer service
