About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead one of our locations. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, whether they have prior experience in the automotive industry or transferable skills from other fields such as retail, restaurants, or customer service. As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a team, controlling inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service, all while contributing to the financial success of the shop.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Must have basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a manager in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses is valued but not required.
- Experience as a server, restaurant worker, mechanic, retail employee, landscaper, or other skilled trade worker.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members.
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll.
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary.
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely.
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations.
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Performing auto services such as draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and other light maintenance services.
- Providing excellent customer service.
