About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; paid training covers Take 5’s shop-management approach and services such as oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance. The role is described as offering opportunities for advancement, and experienced managers may earn $55,000 or more through base salary and bonus opportunities. The Shop Manager oversees crew staffing, scheduling, training, inventory, shop financials, and customer service, while also supporting the team by performing automotive services. The position requires physical work in a shop environment, reliable transportation, basic computer skills, and willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
Requirements
- Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
- Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
- Understand the shop’s financials to drive results and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
