About The Position

The Shop Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the shop, including operations, team leadership, cost control, and equipment reliability. This role leads the team, sets direction, and ensures the shop runs efficiently, safely, and meets company goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ proven management experience with 8+ staff
  • 10+ years of Leadership experience
  • Software experience/computer technical expertise
  • 3-5 years heavy duty shop experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in the trucking industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and agree to companies drug free workplace policies.

  • Ability to lift up to 90lbs
  • Frequently exposed to fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions
  • Position is very active, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing entire shift
  • The incumbent must maintain the confidentiality of all company and customer information and must not discuss such matters outside of Keith Titus Corporation.
  • Tact and discretion must be used in all dealings with all customers and potential customers to maintain a positive image of Keith Titus Corporation

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day and long-term shop performance (productivity, quality, uptime)
  • Set priorities and align maintenance with operations and dispatch
  • Lead, coach, and hold the team accountable for results
  • Manage shop costs including labor, parts, and outside repairs
  • Oversee and improve preventative maintenance and repair quality
  • Ensure all work is properly documented and closed in TMT
  • Manage inventory levels, accuracy, and vendor relationships
  • Make decisions on outsourced work and major repairs
  • Hire, train, and develop team members
  • Enforce safety standards and DOT/CSA compliance
  • Communicate with drivers, vendors, and leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement across the shop KPIs
  • Planned vs. unplanned repairs
  • Labor efficiency / shop productivity
  • Cost per unit / repair
  • Inventory shrinkage (<5%)
  • PM & DVIR completion
  • Repeat repairs / quality issues
  • Equipment uptime
