About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. The role is open to experienced managers as well as candidates without prior experience; paid training is provided in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services. The manager is expected to become accountable for the team’s execution of Take 5 standards in less than 60 days. The position combines team leadership and administrative responsibilities with customer service and hands-on automotive work. Managers may support crew members with oil changes and other auto services and perform those services as needed. The posting advertises earnings of up to $55,000 or more per year for experienced managers, plus bonus opportunities.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Must have basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a manager is valued but not required; no prior experience is necessary.
- Leadership experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses may be relevant.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
- Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the team follows Take 5 standards for oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
