About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead our team. We are a growing company with over 35 years of experience, known for our friendly technicians and efficient, in-car oil change process. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders being internal promotions. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, whether they have prior experience in the automotive industry or transferable skills from sectors like restaurants, retail, or other service-based businesses. We provide comprehensive paid training on all aspects of shop management and service delivery.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Basic computer operating skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other service-based businesses is valued but not required.
- Opportunities to join the team as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training are available for those without prior management experience.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory assessments
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory
- Understanding shop financials to drive results and manage the budget
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Performing auto services including draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and other light maintenance
- Providing excellent customer service
