About The Position

Transport Refrigeration Services (TRS) is seeking a self-motivated and hardworking Shop Helper for their fleet service shop in Johnstown, NY. This role is ideal for individuals with previous truck driving or yard jockey/spotter experience. TRS is a premier provider of fleet maintenance and refrigeration solutions for the transportation industry, known for its expert technicians, top-tier facilities, and customer-first approach.

• Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screen
• Committed to workplace safety
• Basic computer skills for work orders and time tracking
• Proficient in safely operating Yard Truck, Forklift, and Shop Truck
• Unrestricted driver’s license
• Successful completion of 40-hours of Yard Truck Driving Course
• Successful completion of a Forklift Certification Course

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck driving or yard jockey/spotter experience

Responsibilities

• Wash trailers (interior/exterior) for external customers
• Move and back up semi-trailers using the yard truck
• Maintain a clean shop, wash bay, and fuel island
• Fuel company equipment
• Operate various vehicles and machinery
• Follow all company and customer policies
• Handle additional duties as assigned
