While you will apply through SOLV Energy, all day‑to‑day work, responsibilities, and decision‑making for this role will reside within SDI. A construction shop helper is responsible for providing support to skilled tradespeople within a construction shop by performing tasks like loading and unloading materials, preparing tools and work areas, assisting with multiple tasks, cleaning up debris, and maintaining the overall organization of the Shop/Yard, all while adhering to safety protocols and following instructions from supervisors. This role is located full-time in Sacramento, CA. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and/or 1 years of experience in related field.
  • Forklift Certificate.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency and working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Inventory Experience 1year.
  • Class C Driver License.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in construction.

Responsibilities

  • Loading and Unloading construction Materials and Tools from Trucks.
  • Cleaning Heavy-Duty Equipment.
  • Shipping and Receiving.
  • Organizing Shop and Yard Tools and Supplies.
  • Shop Runs for parts or materials.
  • Inventory.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to workplace regulations and ensuring the safe operation of all equipment.
  • May assist in ordering materials, tracking material deliveries, and maintaining records of material deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
