Requirements

  • Ability to successfully complete all required training, in-house/offsite
  • Must be willing work evenings and/or weekends, if required
  • Possess valid identification
  • Be able to operate motor vehicles in compliance with all state and federal requirements, if travel required
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification required
  • Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic/experienced mechanic knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to read, write and follow work instructions
  • Ability to interface with co-workers and customers
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines
  • Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings – Background, Physical & Drug screen
  • Be able to comply with all drug and alcohol policies of Nidec / Houma Armature Works and/or customer sponsored programs.
  • Subject to random Drug and Alcohol screenings
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds unrestricted

  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Clearly see 20+ feet with or without corrective lenses
  • Have ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for the hands, feet, head, ears, and eyes in shop and safety-sensitive environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist with disassembly and reassembly of motors, generators, and pumps
  • Sandblast, steam clean, cleans and prep parts
  • Operates the cutout saw and put motors, generators, and pumps in the burn out oven
  • Performs tasks as required for general facility maintenance and upkeep including but not limited to lawn care, general janitorial duties, sweeping, pressure washing and painting
  • Operate company equipment (i.e. forklift, crane hand tools, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner in the performance of all duties as required
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
  • Comply with all company policies / procedures and perform all job functions in an ethical manner
  • Complete all required safety training
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear for all tasks
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area free of hazards as directed by supervisor
  • Performs all applicable duties in accordance with our Quality Management System (QMS), as required
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by management
