About The Position
Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is seeking temporary Builder/Maker support for our Elmwood, Louisiana production facility. This role is ideal for hands-on creatives who enjoy building immersive environments and can jump in to support active production projects. As part of our creative shop, you’ll assist in constructing scenic elements, props, and set pieces used across our portfolio of haunted attractions, immersive experiences, and live events. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where flexibility, craftsmanship, and reliability are key. The Shop Helper is a versatile team member who supports a wide range of duties in our production shop. You’ll float between tasks throughout the day—helping with light carpentry, painting, organizing, and general shop upkeep—to keep projects moving efficiently and safely.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from multiple leads
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with changing work assignments
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- General experience with hand and power tools preferred (training available)
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic carpentry tasks and scenic construction under supervision
- Support scenic and general painting projects as directed
- Prepare, pack, crate, and move materials, props, and scenic elements
- Safely lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) as needed
- Maintain shop cleanliness, including trash removal, sweeping, and general housekeeping
- Help organize tools, materials, inventory, and work areas to support safe and efficient operations
- Float between teams and tasks based on project priorities and deadlines
- Follow all safety procedures, shop rules, and supervisor direction
