About The Position

The shop foreman is responsible for planning, scheduling, performing, directing and evaluating repair and servicing equipment. This position reports to the regional manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned. Maintain tool and material inventory Maintain accurate vehicle fleet inventory; perform vehicle inspections and ensure maintenance is accomplished as required Identify, diagnose and perform repairs as needed on shop equipment Train and mentor junior technicians in regard to tools and their use Coordinate work among all trades to ensure resources are allocated according to work schedules and project priorities Manage and maintain work environment safety, perform inspections, and ensure adherence to regulations. Purchase any necessary parts to complete repairs, and possess knowledge of repair procedures and basic computer software (to place orders)

Requirements

  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Must possess knowledge in the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic component systems; the practices, materials, and tools used to repair and refinish various ship repair and industrial projects.
  • Knowledge in the operations of a multifaceted mechanic/repair shop; machine/mechanic shop safety practices.
  • Ability to understand and administer OSHA, ABS Classification guidelines, USCG, NAVSEA and SOLAS requirements
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High performance and a strong team player
  • Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures
  • Commitment to company values, policies and procedures and safety program
