The Shop Foreman is primarily responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products to project team members and maintaining records of equipment and its maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in construction equipment use/maintenance, or related position.
  • 3 years of Mechanic experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to do tune-ups, brake jobs (hydraulic), and basic wiring.
  • Basic diesel and drive train experience.
  • Ability to use cutting torch and basic welding skills.
  • Knowledge of minor heavy equipment repairs.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Good knowledge of applicable safety regulations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and small tools Knowledge of equipment safety and proper use.
  • Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting methods and procedures Knowledge of equipment maintenance methods and procedures Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel Excellent organization skills.

  • Associate's degree in a technical field of study.
  • 12 years of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for service and repair of tools, equipment and vehicles within the Company’s fleet.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mechanics, fabricators and other tradesmen.
  • Responsible for proper coding and processing of all invoices, work orders and fleet management upload.
  • Responsible for implementing marketing plans to promote outside services while focusing on customer retention by building relationships and providing high quality services.
  • Responsible for keeping records, accounts and financial billing for outside customers.
  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or electric hand truck.
  • Inventory and inspect materials as transferred to and from jobsites Maintain all equipment files Purchase all parts and necessary maintenance materials.
  • Prepare and submit equipment invoices for management.
  • Schedule equipment servicing and maintain service records.
  • Schedule all equipment cleaning and equipment repairs.
  • Prepare required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including work orders, parts lists, and timecards.
  • Keep abreast of equipment updates and product technology.
  • Read and interpret instruction manuals and pertinent literature.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies, and rules.
  • Maintain shop in clean and orderly state.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
