About The Position

A-One Refrigeration is seeking a dynamic and skilled Shop Foreman/Sheetmetal Fabricator with 5 or more years’ experience to produce high-quality sheet metal components for Residential as well as light commercial needs. This busy role combines hands-on fabrication expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety standards, and exceptional craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will excel in overseeing daily shop operations, managing fabrication processes, and maintaining a safe, productive environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication with strong knowledge of machining processes including plasma cutting, CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling/lathes, stamping presses, press brakes, and electrical discharge machining
  • Skilled in blueprint reading with the ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T specifications accurately
  • Mechanical knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication techniques
  • Proficiency in operating hand tools, tooling setups, cranes for material handling, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication projects
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards and quality inspection procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or experience with forklift operation is preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sheet metal fabrication shop, ensuring production goals are met efficiently and safely
  • Operate and oversee the use of CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, and electrical discharge machining equipment
  • Program CNC machinery using CAD/CAM software to produce precise parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
  • Plasma experience
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Perform quality inspections utilizing micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensions and craftsmanship
  • Maintain proper tooling, tooling setup, and machine calibration to optimize manufacturing processes
  • Lead safety initiatives by conducting regular equipment inspections, enforcing safety protocols for hand tools, and machinery use
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
