About The Position

The Shop Crane Technician is responsible for performing job functions in a safe manner, wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.), and following established safety and health procedures. The role requires active participation in safety and health training and the ability to bring safety and health issues to management's attention. This is a full-time position with typical 1st shift hours, and overtime or weekend work may be possible. The work environment involves exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, various weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Employees may be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities are also required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician
  • Ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks
  • Welding experience with AWS D1.1 certification, or ability to obtain certification within 3-6 months after hire
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
