Jefferson County Parks & Open Space is seeking a Shop Coordinator to manage the safe and effective operation of its wood and metal fabrication shops. This role involves technical and administrative tasks, including the procurement of tools, parts, and supplies. The Shop Coordinator will operate, maintain, repair, and service equipment, develop and implement operational and safety policies, conduct trainings, provide customer service, and supervise seasonal staff. The position also includes planning and managing parts procurement, evaluating new products, preparing reports, approving invoices, and contributing to the annual budget. The ideal candidate will be proficient with computer systems, possess strong knowledge of wood and metal fabrication best practices (with an emphasis on wood), and be skilled in operating CNC sign routing machines and various hand and power tools. Experience with basic metal fabrication is also required.
