About The Position

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities across the State of Maryland. The Shop Administrative Technician III (SAT III) performs administrative and technical support duties for department operations, including data entry and records management in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), tracking labor, tools, and material requisitions, and reporting operational issues to appropriate supervisors. This position reviews purchase orders and purchasing card records for proper account information and procures materials, supplies, and services in accordance with applicable State procurement regulations and contracts. This role performs general office functions, including correspondence, customer service, filing, mail distribution, scheduling, and maintenance of personnel records.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse, or other supply storage facility.
  • May require the ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.
  • Applicants must possess a Class C Driver's License valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Applicants must list the license number and date of expiration on the Application.
  • Candidates appointed to positions in this classification are required to satisfy the employing administration's training and certification program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all data entry into the Maximo CMMS, including tracking of labor hours and reporting problems to the supervisors and managers.
  • Generate work orders and reports for the supervisors and managers.
  • Maintain vehicle unit numbers; send additions, deletions and/or corrections to the Inventory Management section to update the central database files.
  • Prepare and review purchase orders and purchasing card logs for proper general ledger (GL) account information.
  • Procure materials, supplies and services for the department using State contracts.
  • Prepare paperwork for annual physical and fixed asset inventories, including counting items and entering data into the Maximo inventory system.
  • Organize and maintain files, including personnel actions and leave records, and other timekeeping documentation.
