On-Site Shipyard Painter/Maintenance
About The Position
This position is an essential role in a fast-paced environment that requires thinking quickly and effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. The maintenance/painter will always follow safe work practices and be responsible for helping everyone learn and maintain the PMG Standard. This job is under the supervision of the paint supervisor and performs a wide variety of skilled duties in the cleaning and preparation of surfaces and application of paint and protective coatings to the interior and exterior surfaces of the company's fleet of vessels and barges; and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year experience in maintenance a plus
- 1 year experience as a painter is a plus
- Shipyard experience is a plus
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC Card
- Brainstorming/Thinking outside the box, planning, scheduling, sequencing of work
- Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
- Current Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Mix and prepare paints and other protective coatings.
- Safely use the tools and equipment common to the construction and industrial painting trades.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without restriction. Position involves lifting, pulling, and operating heavy equipment and objects.
