About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, part-time Shipping employee at its distribution center in Atlanta, Georgia. The position helps move products throughout the distribution center by organizing outgoing orders and loading products into trucks by hand, with a pallet jack, or with a forklift. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for up to 28 hours per week. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. The role requires handling packages that typically weigh 25–50 pounds and may weigh up to 100 pounds. Employees must follow health, safety, and sustainability requirements and complete applicable environmental health and safety training. Fastenal offers part-time employees a 401(k) with an employer contribution.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the work.
Have proficient written and oral communication skills.
Have proficient computer skills.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Be able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label products.
Inspect products for damage and document discrepancies.
Sort products into the correct locations.
Stack products efficiently.
Consolidate, load, and unload shipments.
Use load truck reports to locate products for outgoing shipments.
Ensure loads are properly secured for transport.
Verify products are correctly labeled for identification and delivery.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Comply with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
Participate in activities and programs that support company health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety training.
