About The Position

The Shipping Technician role is a safety-sensitive position responsible for verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material. This role also involves receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material, and arranging for the transportation of products. The position is temp-to-hire, based on performance.

Requirements

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Knowledge of common hand/power tools
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
• Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor toward others
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
• Ability to effectively communicate with various audiences using the spoken word
• Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal

Nice To Haves

• Two years' work experience in a related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Examine contents and compare with records, such as invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
• Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies.
• Organize raw materials, label and store.
• Count inventory items.
• Assist with data-entry of inventory levels.
• Cooperatively work as a member of a team.
• Meet weekly production standards set by Cardinal CG management.
• May assist with other departments as needed.
• Accept more challenging assignments as experience and knowledge allows.
• Train others to help them gain knowledge in your strength areas.

Benefits

• Shift Differential: $1.00 per worked hour
• Swing Shift [40 hours/week]:$21.00/hour starting + (up to) 52% of gross monthly earnings for full-time team members =$66,393.60
