Shipping Supervisor
About The Position
Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift, at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the supervision overseeing all second -shift shipping operations to ensure customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and on time. The Shipping Supervisor works closely with production, customer service, and transportation providers to support efficient operations and customers are satisfied. The successful candidate will be expected to directly supervise the functions of hourly shipping personnel and communicate daily with management regarding workloads, schedules, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Intermediate computer skills, including but not limited to, Word and Excel
- Flexibility to work off hours; ability to work extended hours as production warrants
- 3-5 years' experience in a shipping environment
- 1-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing shipping environment
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of SAP (preferred but not required)
- Contribute to team building
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all second shift shipping activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop shipping team members to achieve performance and productivity goals.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor staffing levels and assign work to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper documentation and transaction processing.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures.
