About The Position

Reporting to the Material Control Manger, this position will supervise and oversee all Electroswitch Distribution Center packaging and shipping and related issues. Responsible for leading the department to meet company service, cost, and quality objectives.

Requirements

Level of knowledge associated with an Associate’s degree.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in distribution.
Three (3) to five (5) years supervisory experience.
Strong attention to detail, communication and leadership skills required.
Knowledge of computer systems ERP systems as well as FedEx, UPS, and DHL systems.

Responsibilities

Supervise shipping department personnel.
Hire, direct, instruct, train, motivate and manage personnel.
Assign priorities and daily picking requirements to department personnel.
Plan, schedule, and expedite shipments.
Perform packaging, and shipping, stock selection and cycle counting as required.
Audit customer picklists, highlighting special packaging / shipping instructions.
Assign tickets to stock pullers.
Perform daily audits of switches being received into Packaging to assure accuracy of orders.
Maintain and order department supplies through Kanban system.
Communicate with other departments such as inventory issues with Assembly and Materials, Order details with Sales and Customer Service, and Freight Costs with Accounting.
Communicate with customers as needed to follow up on shipping timelines, sizes, and freight cost estimates.
Identify which team members need the most help and assist them with daily tasks as needed.
Coordinate with Receiving department when large deliveries arrive.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
