About The Position

NSG Group/Pilkington North America is seeking a 3rd Shift Warehouse Supervisor for the Shipping Department. This role operates Sunday Night to Thursday Night, from 10:45 pm to 6:45 am. The supervisor will provide leadership and coordination for their assigned shift, focusing on performance, safety, quality, and productivity. This includes managing teams involved in banding, loading, picking, and auditing, with a strong emphasis on safety tasks, incident investigation, and reporting. The position involves training, mentoring, and developing supervised employees, and is responsible for production results, nightly deliveries, inventory systems, payroll, and administrative duties. The supervisor will collaborate with internal customers to resolve shipment issues, oversee warehouse area and building maintenance, and recommend/implement improvement plans. Other related duties may be assigned by facility management.

Requirements

3 years' experience in a distribution/manufacturing setting, preferably in a time sensitive environment in a distribution (preferred) or manufacturing setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to utilize a computer-based inventory control system
Demonstrated experience with distribution center issues such as safety, quality and operational procedures
Basic understanding of flow and process improvement
Proven ability to lead and motivate to create positive work environment including team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
Proactive, innovative problem-solving skills and excellent organizational skills
High energy, self-starting individual with ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent customer relations and communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient in the English language (verbal and written)
Excellent driving record and valid driver’s license in accordance with Pilkington-AGR’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
Prior Materials Handling Equipment experience (example: platform order picker, forklift, reach truck)
Without assistance, must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing from 1 to 70 lbs.
Able to work at heights of up to 30 feet
Must be able to work in temperatures similar to outdoors within the Central Ohio region
Able to attend off shift meetings
Working knowledge of SAP, bar coding, and RF (radio frequency)/warehousing computer systems

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree desired and commensurate or equivalent work experience without a degree

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and coordination of assigned shift in the areas of performance, safety, quality, productivity
Managing the following teams: banding, loading, picking, auditing
Having more involvement in safety tasks, responsible for safety and incident investigation/reporting
Provides training/mentoring/development of supervised employees
Has responsibility for production results, nightly delivery truck and overnight shipment to AGR Service Center, inventory system, payroll, and various administrative duties
Works with internal customers to resolve shipment issues
Accountable for warehouse area, building maintenance, and exterior grounds
Recommends, develops and implements improvement plans
Performs other related duties as assigned by facility management
Handles employee-related issues including counseling, corrective action, hiring, and terminations
Obtain and maintain appropriate certifications for Materials Handling Equipment
