Prepares and packages components for shipment. Verifies and keeps records for all outgoing shipments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be as assigned: Daily communication with company driver, shipping schedule and Materials Manager to assure delivery schedules are met to customers’ requests. Proper packaging procedures are required to be met to guarantee products will not be damaged during the shipping process. Review and understand shipping techniques, packaging, labeling/marking and shipping requirements per customer purchase orders and specifications as applicable. Create packing lists per company ERP system with accuracy to Job, PO Number and PO Line. Additional details on pack lists may be required per product or customer. Controls and organizes the flow of items throughout the shipping department by priority and schedule per Job. Understand and utilize shipping programs for method of shipment, IE: FedEx, UPS, etc. Maintain accurate weight measurements of each shipment to guarantee proper costing is incurred. Building wooden crates or cardboard containers are standard practices in this role. Tube and label customer product. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Controls count, accuracy and allocates finished goods to inventory. Operates fork truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping to other storage or work area. Assisting with some part assembly.
