Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education or G.E.D. and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work on government contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed forklift truck operator
  • Operation of co-rolling equipment is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Complete receipt verification for purchasing and customer supplied materials
  • Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  • Coordinate proper storage of materials, including room temperature and freezer conditions.
  • Arrange appropriate packaging for shipping.
  • Administer computerized Inventory System.
  • Generate shipping documentation.
  • Make arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
  • Monitor freezer temperatures and assist in testing as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform any other function or responsibility as assigned.
