Requirements
- Minimum of a high school education or G.E.D. and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.
- Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work on government contracts.
Nice To Haves
- Licensed forklift truck operator
- Operation of co-rolling equipment is desirable
Responsibilities
- Complete receipt verification for purchasing and customer supplied materials
- Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Coordinate proper storage of materials, including room temperature and freezer conditions.
- Arrange appropriate packaging for shipping.
- Administer computerized Inventory System.
- Generate shipping documentation.
- Make arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
- Monitor freezer temperatures and assist in testing as needed.
- Operate forklifts and hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform any other function or responsibility as assigned.
