About The Position

Owens Corning is seeking dynamic individuals to join their local team in North Platte. This role involves ensuring safe operations, leading and motivating a team, maintaining standard work practices, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, coordinating logistics, and performing various other assigned duties. The position is located at 1120 Industrial Ave, North Platte, NE, and operates on the 2nd Shift from 5:00 pm to 3:30 am, Monday through Thursday.

  • Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent preferred not required
  • 1-2 Years in the field or related area

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all team members are working safely and are in a safe environment (daily department safety walks) and are wearing proper PPE.
  • Provides safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation.
  • Replace pallets/runners as necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lead, encourage & motivate team by treating them with dignity & respect. Use communication boards to keep team informed of the department performance against standards, working with them to correct deficiencies.
  • Maintains standard work on a perpetual basis to define best practices. Work with all team members to develop process improvements and modifies standard work accordingly. Ensures the training and certification of all team members to standard work. Audits all operations to assure ongoing compliance to defined methods.
  • Verify all incoming material vs. packing list to ensure accuracy. Complete & forward to office for checking in on day received.
  • Place all stock in appropriate storage locations in standard rack quantities.
  • Develop truck routes for delivery of our product daily with minimum cost.
  • Coordinate packing of material for shipment and stage doors for shipment.
  • Load truck efficiently for safe arrival to customers and to maintain density.
  • Insure outside storage is neat, organized and safely stored.
  • Verify all product is accounted for on an outgoing shipment.
  • Communicate with other leaders & supervisors effectively regarding load orders and truck timing.
  • Record any back-order shipments and keep documented.
  • Prepare LTL shipments and keep records of outgoing orders.
  • Able to drive yard truck and back in trailers to load as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
