About The Position

Thompson & Johnson Equipment is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join their Syracuse Parts Department. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of the business, ensuring timely and accurate handling of incoming inventory and outgoing shipments. The specialist will support both internal and external customers, playing a key part in daily operations within a team-focused, hands-on environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to operate (or willingness to learn) forklift and material handling equipment
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver’s license
Profile assessment
Physical (including eye and hearing)
Drug testing for illegal substances

Nice To Haves

Prior shipping/receiving or warehouse experience
Experience with AS400, Tinnacity, or UPS software

Responsibilities

Receive incoming inventory and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips
Inspect shipments for damage and report discrepancies
Prepare and package outgoing orders for efficient, damage-free delivery
Operate forklift and pallet jack to load, unload, and move materials
Label and tag materials for inventory or special orders
Maintain accurate inventory records and support parts system updates
Assist with customer and technician parts needs, including pickups and deliveries
Operate tire pressing machine, including pressing tires

Consistent schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
