About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming materials as well as the preparation and shipment of finished products to customers or distribution centers. The specialist ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations while maintaining accurate inventory records and documentation. By coordinating with production, warehouse, and logistics teams, this role supports seamless supply chain operations and timely delivery schedules. Ultimately, the Shipping & Receiving Specialist contributes to operational excellence by minimizing errors, reducing delays, and optimizing the flow of materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturing.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills daily to coordinate shipments and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.
• Attention to detail is essential for verifying shipment contents and maintaining accurate records, which helps prevent inventory errors and delays.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer applications supports timely data entry and reporting.
• Physical stamina and safe operation of material handling equipment are critical for managing the movement of goods within the warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations and safety standards ensures compliance and promotes a safe workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment.
• Experience with durable goods manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with shipping regulations and carrier requirements (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight).

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including data entry into inventory management systems.
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to organize storage and timely retrieval of materials and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements during all shipping and receiving processes.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or delays.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
