About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Organizer prepares products for shipment and receives material. This role involves stocking products accurately, preparing shipments with 100% accuracy, processing incoming orders within 1 business day, and ensuring all paperwork is accurate. The organizer is responsible for packing, labeling, and inventorying finished goods, selecting the correct products for shipment, following customer-specific shipping instructions, and verifying shipments against packing slips. The position also requires maintaining a clean work area, communicating with production or customer service, and potentially banding/wrapping skids. Additionally, the role involves operating a forklift for material movement and loading/unloading trucks. In receiving, the organizer handles all incoming materials, verifies quantities and paperwork, prepares documentation, and moves items to the correct inventory locations. They also receive non-inventory items, mark them for distribution, and prepare items for shipment to outside vendors, including creating bills of lading.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • Fork lift operating experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Stock products accurately with supporting documentation
  • Prepare shipments according to company and customer requirements with 100% accuracy
  • Process all incoming orders within 1 business day
  • Ensure all incoming order paperwork is accurate before processing Shipping
  • Ensure that product is packed, labeled and placed into the finished goods inventory for immediate or future shipment
  • Scan into Inventory Finished Good with warehouse location noted
  • Select the proper product and quantity for shipment
  • Follow Job Book for each customer unique shipping instructions
  • Match "Packing Slip" against the product assembled for shipment to ensure correctness of shipment and labels with customers address
  • Maintain a clean and orderly packaging and shipping area
  • Contact production or customer service about shipment inquiries
  • May band and wrap skids
  • Operate forklift, assist with movement of material within the warehouse and load and unload company trucks
  • Receive all material and other items into the warehouse
  • Store and process items for shipment within the company and to outside vendors
  • Receive all materials from outside and Internal production locations
  • Check and verify items for correct quantities, correct paper work and physical appearance
  • Prepare documentation and move items into proper shipping location
  • Use scanning to move into proper Inventory locations
  • Turn over paperwork to Receiving Administrator and notify Purchasing that items are ready to ship to vendors
  • Receive all non-inventory items and mark them with the recipient’s name and send the items for distribution to the recipient
  • Prepare items for shipment to outside vendors attaching correct paperwork and create bill of lading
