About The Position

Somic America is seeking a motivated, dependable team member for its Shipping & Receiving Team in Brewer, Maine. The Shipping & Receiving Operator helps move materials and finished products safely, accurately, and on time throughout the facility. This role is the final checkpoint before products reach customers and supports the company’s safety, quality, and on-time delivery goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read shipping documents and work instructions.
Strong math and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and 75 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
Work safely and follow standardized work procedures.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Comfort learning computer systems such as AIM, Microsoft Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
Prepare customer shipments by staging, wrapping, strapping, and labeling them.
Verify shipments for accuracy before they leave the facility.
Receive raw materials and maintain accurate inventory records using AIM.
Transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
Maintain FIFO inventory practices.
Process shipping paperwork, including FedEx, UPS, export, and service part shipments.
Inspect and sort returnable packaging.
Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe Shipping & Receiving area.
Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives.
