About The Position

Perform the daily materials operations for the Schenectady Wind plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with moderate autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. High levels of operational judgement are required to achieve outcomes required. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work if the end results meet standards of acceptability (safety, quality, delivery, cost, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

  • Oracle knowledge and proficiency
  • Execute material transactions in Oracle (RACES module) — receiving inbound parts, issuing materials to jobs, and ensuring accurate cost allocation to wind turbine units
  • Utilize Excel for inventory tracking, inbound material modeling, and operational reporting
  • Collaborate with the warehouse, second shift Ops Lead, and cross-functional teams to maintain seamless shift-to-shift continuity
  • Leadership or influencing experience.
  • Experience working in a Union environment.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and shift priorities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of union hourly front-line manufacturing employees including staffing, payroll, safety expectations and performance development.
  • Managing shipping and receiving of yard (outside) materials supporting production outputs.
  • Component cleaning and timely presentation of material to the production line.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • May lead projects for process improvement and resource requirements.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar equipment operations (cranes, trucks, forklifts, etc.) including lease agreements, operator training/certifications, rigging, and lift plans.
